What is it?

The keyword in this type of training is Workflow. Our courses instruct across the use of multiple programs with a view to creating a specific product, or products on multiple platforms. Very often the problems that arrive in a production workflow are not within programs, but between them. In the world of body-building, Spot Training means working your weak points to develop them. Every broadcast professional has the task of continually acquiring new skills, and with a busy schedule, it would be very easy for gaps to gradually accumulate in one's knowledge-base. A little Spot Training TM might be all one needs, to pump up the workflow again.

Where do you get it?

You don't need to go anywhere. Spot Training comes to you, and is carried out on the spot ! It adapts entirely to your needs, and can include assistance with upcoming challenges, or the automation of repetive, everyday tasks.

Who uses Spot Training?

Before it had a name, exactly this kind of service was requested of Ms Vogan, on behalf of Support Partners and Apple Australia, for the staff of the ABC Nationwide in 2007 and 2008. She has performed similar services for Disney Pictures and Animal Logic, working with acclaimed film editor, Martin Connor, in preparation for his role as lead editor on the upcoming "Guardians of Ga'Hoole" animated feature. New to an Xsan environment, Hacket Films ("Dirt Girl") requested a plan of integrated workflow between their Final Cut Server / CS3 / Maya pipelines. And Phenomenon, one of Perth's finest Post Production Houses, finally got that affordable, in-house advanced training in After Effects CS3, whilst "The Vogan" was in town.

What's available?

Spot Training can help your editors, graphists, animators, technical staff and producers. We can also automate and streamline a 360 degree delivery to new media platforms. Sevices include contextual and in-depth training in Apple's latest media management and automation tool: Final Cut Server, the Final Cut Studio ensemble, and Adobe's CS4. We assist with migrations and transitions; such as from AVID to Final Cut Pro, or from SD to HD formats. We can also propose you come excellent Motion Graphic solutions for a fast-turnover broadcast environment. See the full list of Training and Services or for a free consultation, click here.

How much does it cost?

If you just want to learn a program, or get Certified in Final Cut Pro, for example, we have a price list for that, but the real Spot Training TM is by nature, bespoke, and therefore tailored to your entire working environment. It may vary according to the size and complexity of your workflow, and of course, staff availability. The Spot Trainer or Spot Operator is extremely flexible, and we can negotiate their presense over long, short or intermittent periods, with digressive tarif.

What else?

Spot Training TM is but the tip of the iceberg. The Spot Operator not only teaches it but does it! Check out our Spot Post Production service, where you can view our illustrious Showreel.
